Even the most experienced jet-setter may experience a touch of nervousness or stress when traveling to a new destination. Before you get your flights booked and bags packed, take a minute to read through the following tips to help you minimize travel stress and maximize your vacation enjoyment.
Leave most of your items of value at home. An excess of valuables will make you an obvious target for theft.
Use a list to help you pack your essentials. Your list should be made well in advance (7-30 days) and should include all of your necessities. This way, you can avoid clutter and panic, even if you have to throw things together on short notice.
Provide yourself with what you need to be comfortable on a flight rather than counting on the services of your airline. Because of cutbacks, many airlines do not provide pillows, blankets or headphones, so bring your own if you will use them. You may also want to think of bringing your own food so you can eat what you want.
